Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

You may choose to provide profile information such as a nickname, gender, or birthdate. This information is stored locally on your device.

The app does not require an account to use core features.

Your journal entries, emotion records, tags, and related notes are created by you and stored locally on your device.

We read health data (read-only, no writes) from the Apple Health app with your permission, including but not limited to steps, exercise minutes, sunlight exposure, and stress-related metrics derived from sensors or HealthKit sources.

We do not write, modify, or contribute any data to Apple Health.

We use health data to calculate and present your mental health scores, generate trends and insights, personalize reminders, and improve your experience within the Service.

All health data is stored locally on your device. We do not upload any of your health data or other private data to our servers.

If you use speech-to-text, the app will request microphone and speech recognition permissions. Your spoken audio is used to generate a transcript for your notes. We do not store raw audio or upload it to our servers. Speech recognition is provided by iOS and may be processed on-device or by Apple according to their policies.

If speech recognition is processed by Apple, it is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

If you contact support by email, we will receive your email address and the content of your message in order to respond.

Usage Data

We do not collect usage data on our servers. Any diagnostic or performance data used to improve the app is processed locally on your device. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Use of Your Personal Data

We use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service: including calculating scores and presenting insights within the app.
  • To personalize your experience: including reminders and recommendations based on your on-device data.
  • To respond to your requests: such as when you contact support.
  • To improve app performance: by fixing issues and enhancing on-device features.
  • To deliver notifications: including local reminders and alerts you enable within the app. We do not send remote push notifications.

We do not share Your Personal Data except as described below:

  • We do not share your personal data: We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law. Because your data stays on your device, we typically do not have access to your health data.

Retention of Your Personal Data

Your data is stored locally on your device for as long as you keep it in the app. You can delete entries within the app, or remove the app to delete local data.

We do not retain copies of your health data on our servers.

Your device or system backups (such as iCloud) are controlled by your device settings, not by us.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

We do not transfer your Personal Data to our servers. Your health data stays on your device, so there are no international transfers by us.

Delete Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You.

Our Service may give You the ability to delete certain information about You from within the Service.

You may update, amend, or delete Your information at any time by using the in-app settings and data management features. You may also contact Us to request access to, correct, or delete any Personal Data that You have provided to Us.

Please note, however, that We may need to retain certain information (such as support emails) when we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Law enforcement

Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency). Because your data stays on your device, we typically do not have access to your health data.

We comply with lawful requests to the extent we can access information, which is typically limited to support communications.

Security of Your Personal Data

The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially reasonable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Because your data is stored locally, your device security settings (such as a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID) play an important role in protecting your information.

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 16. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 16 without verification of parental consent, We take steps to remove that information.

If We need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing Your information and Your country requires consent from a parent, We may require Your parent's consent before We collect and use that information.

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us. If You click on a third party link, You will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

We will let You know via a prominent notice in the app prior to the change becoming effective and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
